Isolated dextrocardia and congenital heart blocking
To our knowledge, isolated dextrocardia in association with congenital complete atrioventricular heart block has not been previously reported. We report such a case, elaborate on the possible pathogenesis, and present our experience with management.

Recently, we have reported 20 cases of isolated 1lvocardia (Campbell and Deuchar, 1965), and here we are describing 33 cases of dextrocardia with malformations of the heart. These are nearly always present when the heart is on the right side without inversion of the abdominal viscera (isolated dextrocardia), as they are with isolated levocardia: generally they produce a right-to-left shunt and ...

Background Dextrocardia is a malposition of the heart defined as the right-sided development of the heart. It can increase the likelihood of congenital heart defects or diseases (CHD) and the risk of related morbidities and mortalities. We aimed to determine the frequency of CHDs among Dextrocardia patients. Materials and Methods In a retrospective cross-sectional study the records of patients ...

Isolated lkvocardia, with the heart on the left but with the abdominal viscera inverted, is less well known than its counterpart, isolated dextrocardia, but is not very rare. In this paper we are reporting our findings in 20 patients, and Campbell (1963) has given reasons for thinking that its incidence may be about 1 in 22,000 of the general population. In any series of patients with cyanotic ...
